Children’s Ministries

“Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.” *

The laughter and love of children brings life to Court Street U.M.C.!  Our children represent an amazingly wide range of backgrounds and family situations, but all of them share a passion for learning about and serving Jesus Christ.  Even if you don’t have children in your household, you are invited to share in the joy of serving in our children’s ministries.

(Please note: All volunteers and staff members are required to complete a Background Investigation Consent Form prior to working with our children.)

Sunday School

Sunday school classes meet at 10 a.m. each week.  Children are grouped by age and are taught from the United Methodist Exploring Faith curriculum series.  A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers.

Scouting Ministries

Boy Scouts meet every Tuesday night.  Court Street is proud of Marnez Robinson, the first member of Troop 401 to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout!  Our boys regularly participate in camping trips, the Pinewood Derby Expo, and Boy Scout Camp at Camp Tiak near Wiggins, MS.

Girl Scout Troop 284, which meets two Tuesday evenings per month, represents all age levels of girls, from Daisies to Cadettes.  The girls attend the USM Dance Camp and other Council events throughout the year, as well as summer camp at Iti Kana (Wiggins) and Meridale (Meridian). And, of course, they sell Girl Scout cookies!

Vacation Bible School

VBS 2012 will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on July 29, 30 & 31 (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday).  Children from preschool to elementary ages will experience God’s Word through arts & crafts, Bible stories, drama, and music.
