Small Miracles Small Miracles Child Development Center is housed on the first floor of Court Street U.M.C. From 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, the halls of the church echo with the sounds of laughter, singing, and learning. The center serves children who are six weeks to five years old (pre-kindergarten). With a well-trained staff of loving teachers and assistants, the children enjoy a preschool curriculum in a nurturing Christian environment. Habitat for Humanity The Court Street community jumped in with great enthusiasm to help church member Tyquel Barnes construct a new home in 2007. After a lengthy process, Tyquel was approved as a partner in the Habitat for Humanity building program. She and her six children moved into their new home on Collins Street in January 2008. The next Habitat project on the Court Street Church calendar was the "Faith Build" in September 2009. Many area churches partnered for a round-the-clock building blitz. Court Street members and friends were dedicated volunteers as we helped our second church family realize the dream of home ownership. Anita Carter and her children are delighted to be residents of their home on Grace Circle.
